1. Make sure you have a first aid kit
In those early days of parenting, the last thing you want to do is be up in the middle of the night sending your partner to the pharmacy. Instead, prepare a first aid kit of basic remedies you think you may need. While the contents will vary by your healthcare philosophy, some basics to consider may include:

- A fast thermometer (Find out if your medical provider requires a rectal reading for infants)
- Gripe water or some kind of gas relief
- Band-aids
- Saline drops for stuffy noses
- Suction bulbs and/or a Nose Frida
- Nail clippers
- Diaper rash cream
- Pain/fever reliever (make sure to research brands and scenarios ahead of time)
