Spring Break, Grown-Up Style

(Photos: Juicy Couture, Madewell)By now you’ve probably seen enough snow (and read just as many Facebook status updates about it), that you’ve broken down and booked a trip somewhere blazing hot and close to the equator. Who can blame you? With freezing temps all the way to Florida, a sunny spring break is practically a matter of saving sanity.

Undergoing the beach-bod crash-diet and begging your boss for time off yields the fun part: packing up a suitcase full of light, skimpy clothes you haven’t had a chance to even think about for months. On our list of our favorites pieces for a laid-back, but still grown-up tropical getaway? Things like a sweet-not-too-revealing-cut-out maillot; the perfect shirt dress to wear as a cover-up or out to a casual dinner; a metallic sandal made of jelly that’s a nice alternative to the humble flip flop. In keeping with the “grown-up” theme of our spring break round-up, we even found the adorably classic French market basket Julia Roberts toted around in Eat Pray Love.

In the case your spring break is more about leaving your adult persona at home and letting loose, well. . . okay. Add in some day-glo bikinis and do a few body shots in the name of #YOLO. But please, don’t get caught doing anything you wouldn’t want you mother to see on Instagram.
