Lord of the Flies mentality and avian-centric brooches at the ready: the Hunger Games sequel is mere days away. And while we've pre-booked tickets for the already critically acclaimed film, there's still the matter of an ensemble.
Thanks to the addition of visionary costume designer Trish Summerville to the film's crew, this installment's wardrobe has been imbued with a decidedly couture vibe, with Elizabeth Banks' Effie Trinket sporting a butterfly-adorned Alexander McQueen (above), and Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss donning a revolving door of gowns that swing from an Elvira-meets-Marchesa look (left), to Jakartan designer Tex Saverio's wedding dress-goes-Cirque du Soleil gown (below).
But since we don't happen to have a team of Lionsgate-funded sartorial geniuses at the
ready, we've opted to channel Katniss's more minimal warrior gear with the combination of a utilitarian dove gray jumpsuit and military-themed lace-up boots for a look that says the fashion odds are in our favor.
