13. Deflect Questions With Your Own Questions
Instead of pushing the peas on your plate back and forth, take control of the table conversation and ask some questions of your own. There's nothing more interesting than hearing about your mom-haircut-wearing aunt talk about how she traveled Thailand solo in the '80s, or asking your grandpa how you convinced your nanna to go out with him. The conversation doesn't have to be boring if you don't let it be.
