Zoe Saldana's MyFDB Launches Shopping in Time for Fashion Week
Just in time for New York Fashion Week, Zoe Saldana's MyFDB is set to launch its brand new shopping page. The new feature, which will allow users to purchase items directly from their favorite magazine spreads, is the latest addition to the fashion industry's go-to guide. Co-founded by Zoe and her fiance, Keith Britton, MyFDB was created to "celebrates the credits that push fashion forward."
Back when Zoe first broke into Hollywood, she felt frustrated by the lack of shared resources in the fashion industry. Realizing this need helped inspire the creation of the site–an IMDB meets LinkedIn for the fashion biz. See a fab spread in Vogue? MyFDB will not only tell you who shot it, but also name the makeup artist, stylists and everyone else responsible for bringing the shoot to life. Zoe shares,
I work in an industry where you can go to IMDB and pretty much get all the information that you need—a director, a producer, a writer or even a fellow actor. When I was younger and starting out in the business, there was just a lack of information out there when it came to fashion houses, photographers and stylists and all the people who pretty much work behind the cameras in the whole composition of how editorials and campaigns get made.
Although MyFDB already boasts more than 50,000 professional profiles of celebrities, photographers and models, Zoe says this is only the beginning for the industry guide. She says,
We want a very useful site that people who are in the business and also fashion admirers can use. We're also launching a shopping page where you'll be able to click on products that you see in the pictures and you'll be redirected to places where you can actually purchase them. In addition, we also want to start a vintage page where you can see fashion from different eras and how magazines have changed their titles and everything
