2018 Moments We're Grateful For

After the current administration first enacted their horrific new immigration policy, involving separating migrant children from their families at the border, several major airlines requested that their flights not be used to transport these children, including American, Frontier, Southwest, and United. According to The New York Times, American Airlines made a statement "saying that it had 'no desire to be associated with separating families, or worse, to profit from it.'"

Meanwhile, United CEO Oscar Munoz shared with USA Today, "Based on our serious concerns about this policy and how it's in deep conflict with our company's values, we have contacted federal officials to inform them that they should not transport immigrant children on United aircraft who have been separated from their parents. This policy and its impact on thousands of children is in deep conflict with that mission and we want no part of it." 

Something to be grateful for amidst a truly obscene and heartbreaking humanitarian crisis on American soil? We'll take what we can get.
