Air Fryer Reviews For 2021: The Best Air Fryers For Your Money
Let's see which air fryer ovens live up to the hype.
It’s no surprise that the air fryer industry is worth millions of dollars in America. It seems that everywhere you look, people are talking about air fryers and why they love them. Instagram feeds are filled with air fryer recipes, Tik Tok is exploding with air fryer hacks, and the reviews on top sites like Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers are mostly in favor of them.
But, with so many different kinds of air fryers out there, how do you choose? There are models that boast having 10 plus features and others that say they’re super easy to clean. There are some that say they can cook food faster than competitors and then there are those that come with recipe books and videos to teach you how to get the best out of your new appliance. The options are endless, which makes it really difficult to decide which one is best for you. Thankfully, by looking at reviews from other buyers, it’s easy to narrow down the choices. Here are some of the top air fryers and reviews about them to help you choose.
Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer 6 in 1
With a company like Instant Pot behind this air fryer, it’s no wonder that people rave about it. It has over 27,864 reviews on Amazon and 79% of them give it five stars. That sounds pretty good to us. One user gave it a really glowing review, “This baby does it all, meat, fries, onion rings, baking, I've been using this for about a week. It was a Valentine's Day gift to my fiancee. I've never tasted better onion rings, crispy and cooked through with no soft or damp spots. It cooks in various ways, a spit for fowl and joints, a rotating barrel for fries and so forth, a tray for chops and meats. It cooks all of them spectacularly well. So far, everything has been delicious and cooked to perfection.”
People do note on reviews on Walmart.com that there is a bit of a plasticy smell the first few times you use this. The higher star reviews say to push through this, it does go away.
KALORIK 26 QUART DIGITAL MAXX AIR FRYER OVEN AKA "THE MAXX"
Next up is the Kalorik 26 quart digital Maxx air fryer over, more commonly referred to as “THE MAXX.” It has ten different functions allowing this appliance to take the place of other ones that may be cluttering up your kitchen counter. One user who purchased the air fryer from Costco said, “It's a month in, and we're still in love with our Kalorik Air Fryer Oven. Yes, it does take up some counter space. However, it is replacing several other appliances, so it evens out in the end. The oven is extremely easy to use, and I'm usually done cooking before my actual oven is even done heating up. It's easy enough for my kids to use. I highly recommend purchasing a cookbook to discover even more ways to use this oven.”
And a user who purchased it from Best Buy said that their only complaints were about the beeping noise and the doors, “We love this product and how it runs. But the beeping noise is very annoying and drives my dog out of the house. How do I turn it off? I’ve tried to find a way on the internet. Came up empty handed. The only other thing about this air fryer oven is the doors don’t stay open. But we really love having it and how it works.”
Emeril Lagasse Power Air Fryer
The Power Air Fryer has 12 different pre-set cooking buttons that make using it so easy. Many people love this air fryer but say that they love it for all functions but the air frying. It is marketed as an air fryer but it can do so much more. Emeril’s air fryer has over 1,000 reviews on Costco’s website, and an average of 4.3 stars, which is pretty good. Most people seem to like it but were confused by all of the settings, “I don't have experience with previous air fryers to compare so I am going solely on what I have experienced with this one after 2 weeks of multiple use. Overall good. It does have a learning curve. Not all times and temperatures are accurate for the cooking so it takes some figuring out. Noise level is fair and tolerable (low setting on my cooktop fan/vent is way louder).”
PHILIPS AIRFRYER
If price isn’t a huge concern for you, then the Philips Airfryer is worth looking into. It has a 2-pound capacity and you can make a meal for four people in it very easily. You can even cook two different things at once with the rack that it comes with. It heats up in seconds, cutting cooking time down. One Amazon review titled “Best Investment in an Appliance in 60 Years!” said, “Having gone without a deep fryer for over 40 years (I'm already fat), I of course still missed the flavor, having used a conventional oven to heat fries, onion rings, etc. so I decided to give an airfryer a shot. I've ended up using mine, up to FOUR TIMES in the same day! Hash brown patties at breakfast, toasted ravioli at lunch, mozzarella sticks for my son, sausage balls in the evening for both of us. My conventional oven + stick-free foil are now practically retired. Clean up is simple, using either hot, soapy water in the sink, or the dishwasher. Not only am I eating healthier, but also saving on my electric bill!!! Best recipe so far has been roasted potatoes, using olive oil, and Lipton's onion soup mix. This fryer is VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to anyone interested in buying one. Enjoy!"
