Badass Women Who Changed The World

Saving more than twice the number that Oskar Schindler did, this unsung hero saved nearly 2,500 toddlers and infants during WWII. 

A 29-year-old Polish social worker, she made her way into the Warsaw ghetto and proceeded to smuggle thousands of kids out with the help of 20 aids, to save them from the death camps. Once the Nazis caught onto what she was doing, they kidnapped and tortured her by breaking her arms and legs, but not once did she cave and share information about the children or her aids. 

After all of this, she still wished she did even more to help. In an interview, she was quoted as saying, ”I could have done more. This regret will follow me to my death.”
