Pictures Of Women Embracing Body Hair That Will Inspire You

Put down the Bic razor, and with it your anxiety.

Now that winter clothes are being packed away and summer dresses are being shaken out, we don't have the usual leggings and thick sweaters to hide behind when we get lazy in the shower and decide to skip shave day. Legs will need to be smoothed out, armpits taken care of, tummy trails nipped, and a plethora of other places doused with shaving cream and weed-wacked away. But then they really need to be?

A pink Bic razor was put into my hand ever since I was 13, but I want to raise the question, honestly, what's so wrong with body hair? Is it really that unattractive to sport a little under arm hair or have a flash of shin hair underneath a dress? These nine women prove that it's just as sexy and just as feminine as going completely smooth. Remember: There's not just one way of being beautiful.

1. Having Fun With Body Hair

In an effort to show that female body hair isn't cringe-worthy but rather something to be totally okay with (and even proud of!), the dying pit trend was created to let women inspire each other. It says: Yea I grow armpit hair, and, yea, it looks pretty  magic when I dye it popsicle colors. Be loud and be proud.

2. It Takes Personality

Just like pulling off a certain dress or jumpsuit, pulling off armpit hair takes a certain personality. Are you self confident enough to embrace every bit of you?

3. Lip Hair Isn't Something To Be Embarrassed Over

Tweezing, waxing, shaving - who needs it. In these collections of pictures, women are shown that their hairy bits are just as lovely as their smooth parts. That upper lip hair you sometimes rock? t's just like a glitter 'stache, and it doesn't warrant any shame.

4. Movie Sirens Embraced It, Too

Sophia Loren was infamous for not giving a damn about using the razor by her bathtub. Whether she was at a beach or in a gown at a premiere, she always had a tuft of armpit hair.

5. Like, Really Embraced It

See, I wasn't lying. And she looks all sorts of jaw-on-the-floor sexy here.

6. It's Feminine

Because it's a part of your body, it's automatically feminine. All the ads, magazines, and trends that say otherwise are just trying to push a product and an idea. The more perceived things wrong with women that they feel they need to "fix," the more money in their banks. If you develop enough confidence in yourself to feel okay with the natural state of your body (and love it!) then you'll look beautiful no matter what.

7. And It's Sweet

If you think you won't look girly if you have a healthy amount of wisps, then let me introduce you to Exhibit A.

8. And It's Hella Sexy

Now let me point you in the direction of Exhibit B.

9. And It Shows That You're Taking Back What It Means To Be A Woman

We're not meant to be sheared down, polished up, and buffed to a gleam. We're women. We're people. And so we're hairy. Whether you choose to let it grow out or not is your decision, just know it's not something to be ashamed of. Your body is amazing, and that includes your shin hairs and your armpits.

Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
