Your Favorite '90s Nail Polish Just Got A Major Reboot
Somewhere Cher Horowitz is squealing with joy.
Twenty years ago, Hard Candy carved its place out in the hearts of teens everywhere. Thanks to Alicia Silverstone, who shared her love of pastel blue lacquer "Sky" on the Late Show with David Letterman, the Hard Candy obsession grew. From the initial range of nail polishes and matching rubber rings, the brand added cosmetics and became a cult fave for years to come.
In honor of the cosmetic company's 20th anniversary, Hard Candy is launching a limited-edition makeup and nail color collection, which includes eight shades of polish—in original packaging with rings ($4)—an eyeshadow palette ($6), four liquid eyeliners ($6), three lip glosses ($5) and two shades of blush ($7). The goodies can be found now exclusively at Walmart stores.
Although we're thrilled for the entire collection, we'd be lying if we said we weren't mainly stoked for the re-launch of the polishes, which will include some of our fave hues from the '90s. Alas, to the deep sadness of one of our editors, one of the brand's original six shades, Peachy—a perfect warm nude—is not one of the returning hues. Perhaps for the 50th anniversary, the brand will reconsider.
