The procedure commonly known as The Vampire Facelift is supposed to stimulate collagen production, remove fine lines and blemish scars, as well as replenish skin. However, the method in which it's done is more than a teensy bit icky (in this editor's opinion, that is.) The patient's own blood is extracted from the body (via the arm, for example), separated into platelet-filled plasma, mixed with fillers like Restylane and Juvederm and then injected back into the skin. The result is a bloody messy facial sure to drive Edward Cullen crazy.
We first saw this extreme procedure in March on none other than Kim Kardashian herself, who showed off her bloodied face via Instagram.

(Kim Kardashian/Instagram)The Vampire Facelift then popped up again in June when Gisele Bundchen mocked the messy treatment for a photo shoot for Vogue Italia.

(Courtesy Vogue Italia)Just recently though, we spotted this bloody trend on supermodel Bar Refaeli, who like Kardashian, posted a pic of her blood-covered face on Insta.

(Bar Refaeli/Instagram)Thinking of considering this extreme procedure to turn back the clock? Better you than us—just kidding!—just be prepared for a hefty price tag of $1,500. Let us know if you'd ever consider this beauty trend. As for us, we're going to try to keep our blood in our bodies, thank you very much.

Sure, what's a little blood if it makes me look younger?

No, thanks. I fainted when you said blood.
