The Beauty Trend to Steal from the Runways: Sexy Sweat

sexy sweat(Source: ImaxTree)As much as we tell ourselves "girls don't sweat, they glisten," the truth of the matter is: we sweat. But instead of trying to hide the shiny truth, women today are embracing their natural glow. Just a hint of sweat can act as a badge of honor after a rewarding workout. In fact, one of the latest beauty trends we spotted backstage at NYFW Fall 2015 aims to mimic the natural, dewy glow of an active woman.

Dewy skin, or as we heard makeup and nail artist Katie Jane Hughes cleverly dub it backstage, "sexy sweat," gives the appearance of youth and radiance from the inside out. With just a hint of highlighter and shine around the cheekbones all the way up to the temples, skin looks plumper and fuller, i.e. younger. Not to mention the light reflected off the shine gives the appearance of a glow.

See our top three sweaty shines from backstage at Fashion Week:

New York Fashion Week Spring 2015, Marc By Marc Jacobs(ImaxTree)more pics »For Marc by Marc Jacobs' runway show, models donned '80s punk rocker faux hawks and sheer, clean skin to mimic a night spent dancing at a rave. To get this look, Diane Kendal for Marc Jacobs Beauty used Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Lock Moisture in 10 Makeout ($24) on the high points for the cheeks and contours of the eyes to create the dancing-girl glow.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2015, Jason Wu(ImaxTree)more pics »Kendal also created a similar look for Lancome at Jason Wu's Spring 2015 show. This time she used an illuminator on the cheeks to get the look. Lancome's La Base Hydra Glow ($40) on the cheekbones highlighted the curve of the cheeks.

Don't want to wait until springtime to experiment with the sexy sweat look? Reach for your fave lip gloss to get the job done. This backstage beauty hack we learned from famed makeup artist Hannah Murray a few seasons back has helped us nail the highlighted look every time.

"Literally just tap it on the high cheekbones," she says. "Just with barely any [gloss] on the finger. You're pressing it in the skin, so it's just sitting on it—kind of highlighting that juiciness!"
The Beauty Trend to Steal from the Runways: Sexy Sweat(Source: Maybelline)Our gloss of choice? Maybelline's Baby Lips ($4) not only seals moisture into lips, but it's perfect for creating that faux sweat look on the cheeks, brow bone, nose and even cupid's bow.
