Would You Brush Your Teeth with Mojito Toothpaste?

Would You Brush Your Teeth with Mojito Toothpaste?(Source: Thinkstock)The last time you tried a toothpaste flavor other than mint may have been when you were five and brushed with bubblegum, but perhaps kids aren't the only ones who need tasty pastes as an incentive to maintain good oral hygiene. That would be the thinking behind a handful of oral-care companies who have lately been turning out some bold, unexpected flavors targeted towards adult tastebuds.

Would You Brush Your Teeth with Mojito Toothpaste?(Source: Crest)Industry stalwart Crest recently released its Crest Be toothpastes ($6 each) featuring three savory scents: Be Dynamic Lime Spearmint ZestBe Inspired Vanilla Mint Spark and Be Adventurous Mint Chocolate Trek. The former two are surprisingly subdued and well balanced but what's really shocking is how much we loved the chocolate version—even though it smells just like boxed brownie mix out of the tube, it wasn't remotely cloying. It actually tastes exactly like a York Peppermint Pattie and left our mouths feeling incredibly fresh.

Would You Brush Your Teeth with Mojito Toothpaste?(Source: Hello)Indie newcomer Hello launched last year with four mint-based flavors, including the atypical zingy citrus Mojito Mint and sweet-tart Pink Grapefruit Mint. The largely natural toothpastes ($5 each) come in slim recyclable bottles that minimize waste, since there are no cardboard boxes to throw away.

Among them, spice-spiked Ginger Mint and lovely floral Jasmin Mint ($6 each).

All of the aforementioned flavors don't eschew mint completely but they're still a departure from the straightforward classic we're used to. We found it rather fun to spice up our twice daily routine but tell us, would you give one of these newfangled toothpaste flavors a go?
