35 Amazon Products You’ve Never Heard Of With Cult Followings

These Amazon products have enormous fanbases.

Hi, my name is Taylor, and one of my favorite things to do is buy Amazon products with cult followings you’ve probably never heard of. Seriously, I've purchased a ton of the items on this list pretty much based off of people’s reviews (whether on Amazon, Youtube, a friend’s recommendation, or a blog). There’s something so refreshing about discovering an incredibly helpful product you didn’t know existed, and products with cult followings usually fall under those categories

I’m talking weird but totally useful things, like a sweater shaver that helps you keep your favorite jumpers in shape, or the Squatty Potty, which makes going number two a bit more comfortable (and easier) for you. There are dog cameras that distribute treats via apps on your phone, and even beauty products made of snail mucus. There are water gardens that your fish can fertilize and tub stoppers that keep your drain from getting clogged. How about a shower curtain that literally has pockets? So many of the amazing things on Amazon are completely random but usually have huge fan clubs. The great thing about them is most of them aren’t too expensive and they often have reviews from thousands of people to back them up.

So if you’re like me and find yourself spending a ton of time searching for things that will make your life easier, do yourself a favor and check out this list.

Reusable Metal Straws

In an effort to be more environmentally conscious, I try to keep my straw use to a minimum. But, if I’m being honest, I enjoy drinking my liquids out of a straw — it just goes down nicer! So, instead of adding to the billions of pounds of plastic waste out there, I picked up this pack of metal straws. It comes with ten pieces: four bent straws, four straight straws, two cleansing brushes and a little pouch. It’s great because I can reuse them, they’re dishwasher safe, and I’m helping save the environment.

Set of 10 Stainless Steel Straws, $5.99, Amazon

Squatty Potty

The first time I heard about the Squatty Potty, I was listening to Lo Bosworth’s podcast, Lady Lovin’. One of the hosts, Greta, was talking about how she'd just started using the Squatty Potty and her life was changed. She graphically explained how much easier it made going to the bathroom. If you think about it, it makes sense. It’s a proven fact that squatting is the most natural way to go to the bathroom, so propping your feet up while you’re on the toilet actually makes a huge difference. It comes in two different heights, so make sure you choose the right one for you.

Squatty Potty The Original Toilet Stool, $24.99, Amazon

HP Sprocket

Very few people actually print their photos out these days, which is why having an instant printer is the best way to do it. Simply use bluetooth to connect your phone to the portable printer and print out your photos as soon as you take them. That way, you don’t forget about them and let them slip into oblivion (aka the photo app on your phone). It fits easily into a bag and prints make a great little gift. The paper is pretty, glossy, and features a sticky back so you can hang your photos up with ease.

HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer, $99.95, Amazon

Water Garden

How cool is it that your fish tank doesn’t have to be a boring old fish tank anymore? In 2019, it can be a water garden that actually thrives because of your fish. This awesome little contraption is a closed-look ecosystem in which your fish fertilizes the plants, and in turn, the plants filter the water. It’s no wonder it’s got a cult following. Some users have even worked out their own system: “We originally planted the seeds that came in the kit but like others had said the seeds get everywhere… Now we have bamboo growing!”

Sometimes I get home after a long day and just want a beer. Then, I get halfway through it and I’m no longer in the mood. Enter the beer saver. This little silicone top is the best invention for keeping an open bottle of beer fresh until you’re in the mood to finish it. Tons of users (and beer enthusiasts) love the fact that it keeps your beer fizzy for an hour or two and stops flies from crawling into bottles if you’re hanging poolside.

Umbra Hanging Planter

Is it just me, or have indoor plants really taken off this year? I don’t know what it is, but even I have found myself with a real live plant in my room (it's still up for debate if I can keep it alive). If you’re concerned about becoming a bonafide plant parent right away, a succulent is probably your best bet because they’re easier to take care of. Plus, it seems like all of the cutest planters are for succulents or cacti! This Umbra geometric wall vase is adorable and buildable. It’s the perfect item to add some personality to your home.
