If Muji and A.P.C. had a love child in Berkeley, it might look something like Pas de Calais.
The low-key luxe brand has won fans including Natalie Portman and Alexa Chung, thanks to designer Yukari Suda's globally sourced formula. "Pas de Calais takes what the French have taught us about dressing—easy-to-wear but tailored silhouettes, and a dedication to the most luxurious fabrics—and blends it with Japanese minimalism," she explains.

The label's spring collection blends Suda's interest in a nomadic lifestyle (see: a naturalistic color palette combined with rustic textures) with an easiness and cosmopolitan air that's suited to urban routines. From relaxed linen pants to sheer button-downs and graphic-print silk dresses, the pieces range from $200 to $1,500, and can be found on the brand's site, as well as in-store at Madison in LA, Kisan in New York, and Louis Boston in Boston.
