Discover the Noteworthy Brand Creating Fashions from Discarded Fabrics
Be environmentally-friendly and chic with the accessories and apparel created by Looptworks.
I'm totally guilty of indulging in retail therapy more often than I probably should. But through all of the purchases I've made in my lifetime, I've never really thought about the waste that is created by the companies making my new duds—until recently. More often than not, unused materials go straight to the landfill. Realizing that doesn't do any good for the environment or the industry, Looptworks set out to take discarded textiles and turn them into something awesome in the form of bags, tech cases and clothes.
The leftover leather from your favorite pair of boots and the cotton from your go-to tee are now finding new ways to thrive in the market. The sustainable Portland-based company only uses premium materials, which guarantees high-quality products to last a lifetime.
Most recently Looptworks partnered with Southwest Airlines to repurpose the leather covers from more than 80,000 plane seats. For "Project Luv Seat," the material was first deconstructed and cleaned, then redesigned into a duffle bag ($225), tote ($150), toiletry case ($65) and backpack ($250) inspired by the seats' original construction.
Since all products are handmade with limited quantities of fabric, shop your favorite Looptworks style before it's gone, here.
