Brand Spotlight: Elle Sasson

Brand Spotlight: Elle Sasson(Source: Elle Sasson; Two-tone Chambray Dress, $425. Cropped Top, $260; Cat-print Skirt, $495.)There's something unmistakably ebullient about designer Elle Sasson's debut collection for her new namesake label. Verdant leaves unfurl over leggings ($395), tees ($365) and swingy skirts ($780); embroidered horses dance along the hem of a crisp poplin dress ($595). Elsewhere, overscale ruffles, Technicolor threadwork, and a whimsical palm-tree motif elevate the collection’s modern, sophisticated silhouettes. This is contemporary dressing with first-rate craftsmanship—and an irresistible sense of humor.

“I design for the girl who loves fashion and has fun with it,” says Sasson, whose father Maurice founded cult '70s label Sasson Jeans. “She is confident in her approach to fashion, and isn’t afraid of bold color or bold prints.”

Julianne Hough, in a floaty, pleated silk-chiffon number, is among the first to step out in one of Sasson's looks. With the designer's knack for cut, color and unexpected detail, we have a feeling she's far from the last.
