(Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin) If you think a basic bun has to be boring, think again. No longer reserved for bad hair days, the librarian-chic look is one of the hottest red carpet trends, and it's also one of our favorite looks for spring. (Let's be real, any hairstyle that takes under two minutes to perfect is automatically one of our go-tos.) This weekend we spotted an edgy version on Elizabeth Banks.
Banks hit the red carpet for the premiere of The Lego Movie wearing a cool polka-dot jumpsuit by Osman and rocking a deep-parted, spiky bun. Her blonde tresses looked sleek and sophisticated when styled into a tight twisted bun. To create the deconstructed look, it would appear as if Banks—ahem, her hair stylist—twisted her shoulder-skimming lob into a basic bun. Careful not to be too precise, she allowed some of the ends to remain sticking out. She also seemed to channel her inner angsty teen by leaving her grown-out bangs swept to the side for a "don't look at me" emo touch.
