Selena Gomez Is the Definition Of Friend Goals With Her Latest Fashion Collaboration
The singer designed three limited edition looks to support her best friend's swim line.
Selena Gomez is not only known for her acting and singing skills — but also for being a true friend when it comes to supporting the women in her life. The star took to social media to praise her BFF, Theresa Mingus, and promote her new swim line, Krahs Swim. Gomez even designed three limited edition looks for the brand herself: a bikini top, a one-piece, and high-waisted bottoms.
“I met Theresa 5 years ago. We worked together and became best friends. She has taught me how to see life in a fun, carefree and uplifting way. She has shown me how to be a strong and fearless woman. She is beautiful, kind and smart. I saw how capable she was of achieving her dreams,” Gomez shared on Instagram.
In a YouTube interview between Mingus and Gomez, the two discussed their close connection and deep bond and the inspiration behind the line, sharing that the pieces are meant for all types of women — at affordable prices to boot. Gomez also talked about how her recent kidney surgery inspired the high-waisted bottoms she designed: "I’ve had a kidney transplant, and I like bathing suits that kind of cover where that’s been and make me feel comfortable.”
The singer also touched on the importance of their friendship, "I don't know if I could get through some of the hardest parts of my life if it wasn't for you." And when asked about what advice she would give to young women who are looking to become entrepreneurs, Mingus said: "I think if you have a dream or a passion about something then you shouldn't hesitate to go after that, and you should make it happen."
