There's no denying it—crop tops weren't just a fleeting fashion trend. They're here to stay. That means two things: 1) Get thee to the treadmill ASAP, and 2) It's time to stock up.

You'll need a couple that are short sleeve (or sleeveless) for summer, and a few lightweight, dressier variations for nights out during spring and fall. But for winter, make sure to pick up one or two that are long-sleeved and just a little bit longer in the front. (FYI, the cool kids are showing just a sliver of skin these days.)

See, a long-sleeve black crop top could potentially be your new go-to plain white tee. It's the ultimate subtly sexy versatile piece that transitions easily across every style, be it glam, boho, classic, or downtown.

Check it: Scarlett Johansson wore one with a digi print pleated skirt, while Julia Restoin-Roitfeld paired hers with a fitted black leather pencil skirt. And Lizzy Caplan wore one to top her mumsy maxi skirt. Three totally different sartorial looks—exact same piece.
