Lupita Nyong’o isn't only an Oscar winner, but also a talented hair-braider. She used her hair styling skills in college to help pay for her tuition and rent, but she learned the skill because she thought the salons in the States didn't compare to the ones back in Kenya. According to Vogue, she was "morbidly disappointed" with the hairdressers here, so she taught herself how to master Bantu knots, dookie braids, and cornrows (among other styles) to do her own hair.
