Not too long ago, I received Barefoot Dreams' Bamboo Chic Drape Front Cardigan ($92) as a gift, and little did I know how this top would change my life. That sounds melodramatic, I know, but I'm not the only one who has a strong affinity for this ridiculously cozy cardigan—its fan base is so strong, it even has its own user-generated hashtag (#blardigan—a portmanteau of blanket and cardigan, which describes the garment perfectly).

I would have never guessed this cardigan had such an ardent following when I took it out of the box. Its substantial, slouchy bamboo-rayon fabric gave it zero hanger appeal, but that changed dramatically the moment I slipped it on. The waterfall-style silhouette drapes just so, making it not only figure-flattering but effortlessly chic.

And don't even get me started on how comfortable it is. You truly are wearing a cardigan-shaped blanket when you put it on (in fact, Barefoot Dreams got its start making ultra-soft receiving blankets for babies), and though it's technically categorized as loungewear, you most certainly can—and will—wear it out of the house. It's perfect for travel, unbearably cold days and those times when you're just feeling blah but don't want to look like it. Basically, it's the top equivalent to my favorite sweatpant jeans.

I have the cardigan in Indigo blue, pictured below, but it comes in 13 other colors, including some ombré styles. Get your hands on this cult-favorite cardigan here to find out what all the hype is about for yourself.
