Current Obsession: Jurlique's Calendula Redness Rescue Mist
(Photos: Jurlique; Caitlin Miller/StyleBistro)Skin redness is probably one of the most annoying things...possibly ever. We highly doubt anyone is ever aiming for the cherry red, constantly blushing look. Yet whether you're suffering from a tad too much sun, the effects of a long workout, or the touch of winter's wind, red skin is inevitable for many at some point. It's especially likely if you're like a certain editor (ahem...) who has very sensitive, fair skin. So how do I—I mean, this mysterious editor—fight redness? With a flower.

Calendula, a gentle yet powerful little flower, has soothing and calming properties, which work wonders on sensitive skin, like mine. The new Jurlique Calendula Rescue range is infused with active botanical extracts, which help to give skin a balanced complexion i.e. no redness. Products in the range include the Calendula Redness Rescue Mist, Calendula Redness Rescue Restorative Treatment, and Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream.Current Obsession: Jurlique's Calendula Redness Rescue Mist
Recently, I have been using the Redness Rescue Mist each morning after my AM run. After being outside in the brutal New York weather my face is left dry, red, and splotchy. Not quite how I want to start my day. In the past, I had attempted to throw on some makeup to cover the redness, but that never quite seemed to get the job done. But now, after applying the Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream followed by a spritz or two of the Redness Rescue Mist, I find my skin almost instantly feeling calmer and looking less weathered. The secret to Jurlique's fancy little mist is that it not only calms skin, but it restores its natural defensive barrier. Plus, it doesn't leave skin looking wet or sticky.

And because when I find something I like, I stick to it and everything that has to do with it, at night, I find myself mixing my favorite night serum with a pump or two of the Redness Rescue Restorative Treatment Serum. Mainly, I just like the way the Rescue Restorative Treatment feels. It's so soothing and soft after a long day. But I'm also a fan because it contains anti-irritation extracts, so I know it's helping my sensitive skin even over night. Who knew a flower could do so much?
