The nostalgic collection will consist of two pieces, a vibrant red lipstick and a rosy cream blush, both of which will come in gold cases evocative of Estée Lauder's packaging during the 1960s. The idea behind the luxe tube and compact, Hertzmark Hudis explained, is "a concept that we call 'handbag elegance'—beautiful things you take out of your purse."
The new line will also play right into the retro-inspired trends we've been seeing all over the runways and red carpets. So hopefully we'll soon be beaming like Betty Draper and showing off our Peggy Olson-esque pouts. The pretty products will be available March 18 on the Estée Lauder website and Bloomingdales.com.
