Details: Sarah Jessica Parker Interviews Sarah Burton Months after Alexander McQueen's death in February 2010, his right-hand woman Sarah Burton quietly took over as Creative Director of the McQueen house. Guiding an iconic fashion institution through a time of grief and uncertainty was no easy feat, but Burton has pulled it off.

She respectfully finished the Fall 2010 collection, which was in progress when McQueen died. Burton then collaborated with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in curating the retrospective “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," which drew a record-breaking crowd of 661,509 visitors. The exhibit became the most-visited in the museum's 142-year history.

And, of course, Burton designed the dress of the century, Kate Middleton's wedding gown. Countless designers around the world clamored at the chance to create the most anticipated wedding dress of our generation, but Burton was personally selected by the Duchess for the big moment. It was a wonderful tribute to McQueen's British roots and a testament to Burton's design prowess.

Fashion icon and longtime McQueen fan Sarah Jessica Parker sat down with Burton at her London studio to discuss life in the fashion world and what stylish adventures lie ahead.

Here are the highlights:

On the design process:
"I think what’s amazing about McQueen and what was amazing about Lee was that he created this process where it was never really about fashion. It was always about a feeling and telling a story. And I think he sort of trained us all— trained me—to try to tell a story and to find a world that doesn’t necessarily relate to what everybody else is doing and to believe in your own instincts."

On the McQueen woman:
"There’ll always be a McQueen woman. She is a strong woman and she is a powerful woman, and when she puts a McQueen jacket on, she feels different. the way she stands is different. The way she moves is different."

On curating the Met exhibition:
"It was so raw in everybody’s minds. When we looked at the pieces, there was such sorrow. But it was also an amazing celebration of what Lee had done. It was really hard to pick the pieces that told the story of Lee because there were so many incredible ones."

On designing Kate Middleton's wedding dress:
"It was a precious, magical time that I’ll always treasure, and I feel like she gave me a gift in many ways. I feel incredibly privileged."

On working with Alexander McQueen:
"What was so amazing about him is that he made you think that anything is possible. He made you challenge yourself all the time, which is why I loved working for him. Nothing was ever impossible. And that was amazing to be around. Completely inspiring."
