(ImaxTree) The finale and designer at his fall 2012 show
Designer Narciso Rodriguez has been busy—he recently designed an entire collection for Kohl's and relaunched his high-end shoe line. Today, it's just been announced Rodriguez will take on an "advisory role" with retail chain Banana Republic where he will "contribute to an already strong design and product development team," according to a statement.
"At Banana Republic, we are committed to delivering modern, stylish work wear to our customers," said BR's President Jack Calhoun. "Narciso's expertise will be a great complement to [Creative Director] Simon [Kneen]'s strengths and to our incredible design team."
Rodriguez's tenure will commence August 20th with work on the fall 2013 collection.
Doesn't seem like too much a stretch, to be honest—Narciso's clean lines and keen eye for tailoring and color seems right in line with Banana Republic's classic-with-a-twist everywoman aesthetic.
