It's officially the year of the royal wedding. If you're still craving fairytale romance after Kate Middleton's epic wedding to Prince William, never fear, the principality of Monaco has some glamour up its sleeve on July 1.
South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock is set to marry Prince Albert II in a grand three-day affrair. It will no doubt attract the world's most glamorous, wealthy and powerful and will be chock full of the finest fashion the world has to offer.
Unlike Kate who kept her wedding dress secret until the last minute, Charlene revealed to Vogue in an exclusive interview that she would be clad in custom Giorgio Armani for the religious portion of the events. Also, unlike Kate, Charlene has a flair for glamour and a love of high fashion. Karl Lagerfeld himself has nothing, but praise for this statuesque beauty. Charlene says:
Karl took me to his workshop in Paris. He said, ‘You are going to be a style icon. You bring a breath of fresh air and modern glamour to Monaco.’ Then he asked me if there was one item of clothing that I had always wanted to experiment with, and I replied, ‘A smoking jacket.’ He went back to his apartment and presented me with his own white shirt and smoking jacket from his closet.
We cannot wait to see Charlene's glamorous wedding outfits!
