Rihanna and Lady Gaga Sold Lots of Magazines in 2010, Unlike Taylor Swift Lady Gaga for Rolling Stone
It's fairly unsurprising that in the newsstand battle of last year's cover girls, pop juggernaut Lady Gaga emerged supreme. The enigmatic performer moved the most magazines in 2010, with sales no doubt bolstered by covers that featured her in various states of undress (or, in the case of her famous Rolling Stone cover, clothed in automatic weaponry).

WWD reports that Gaga's pop contemporary Rihanna also fared well with magazine consumers: Her January GQ cover (topless, natch) was the second best seller of the year for the title. Unfortunately, country cutie Taylor Swift failed to sell well at the newsstands, despite her success on the Billboard charts. Her April Elle cover was the year's worst seller, perhaps because she chose to wear clothes in the shot. Decisions, decisions.
