(Bauer Griffin)more pics » Lady Gaga's Japan Relief Bracelet After the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, celebs far and wide did their part to raise money for relief efforts. Lady Gaga designed rubber bracelet which she then sold to her little monsters. It was a respectable effort which generated a substantial amount of money: one weekend garnered over $250,000 in sales.
But now Gaga is being sued for her efforts to the tune of $5 million. Ari Kresch, an attorney with Michigan-based 1-800-LAW-FIRM, alleges that she overcharged fans for the shipping and handling of the bracelets, donated the cost of the bracelet, then pocketed the rest. The bracelets were $5, taxes were $0.60, while shipping and handling were $3.99. He says:
I’m suing Lady GaGa simply to hold her accountable for giving the money that she was raising for charity to the cause that she was trying to raise it for.
What do you think, is Gaga guilty of cheating her little monsters or is this guy just trying to make a quick buck?
