Nice Nailantei Leng’ete
Nice Nailantei Leng’ete belongs to the Maasai people of Kenya, where, as a young girl, she escaped her culture's ritual of female genital mutilation. But just because she escaped the cut didn't mean that other girls would be so lucky.

Knowing that, she came back to her tribe as an adult to negotiate changing to different coming-of-age ceremonies that would be safer for the girls in their communities. Working with Amref Health Africa, she has saved an estimated 15,000 girls. She is a testament to what it means to use your voice to help people and create change.
