Women Fight Back
Ansuja Madival was only 17-years-old when she created the Women Fight Back app. The student was part of the Dharavi Diary project, a program which taught girls from underprivileged communities in Mumbai to learn how to code. The girls then created mobile apps geared towards challenges they face in their daily lives like sexual harassment, lack of access to clean water, and a need for education. Women Fight Back is an app that features a distress alarm and pre-selected emergency contact numbers in order to keep the user safe and prevent violence against women.
