Marvel's Jessica Jones: She's not your usual heroine — or superheroine, for that matter. Played by Krysten Ritter, we were immediately taken with Jessica as soon as Marvel released its second superhero series on Netflix. Not only does the super-strong private eye kick ass, take names, and "fall with style," she's disarmingly honest and refreshingly multidimensional.

The flawed superheroine suffers from PTSD, is a hard whiskey drinker, and pretty much lives in a dump — again, not your typical hero (or shero) at all. But she's also the ultimate feminist superheroine for all of the above reasons and more, making her one of our all-time Marvel faves. Read on to find out why.
