8 Steamy Movie Sex Scenes and the Lessons We Learned From Them
There's more to movie sex scenes than you may think.
Learning about the birds and the bees from movies isn't exactly a new thing. However, theres a lot more to take away from steamy sex scenes than just the sex. There's a lot of lessons about love and life that come from these films, and usually, it's not exactly what you think. These 8 sex scenes say a whole lot more:
1. Almost Famous
Lesson learned: Despite what you've been told, it is possible to lose your virginity three times - that is, if your first time is a 4-some. It happens and William Miller is proof!
2. Wild Things
Lesson learned: Hate-sex is definitely a thing. Or should I say revenge-sex? Is that even a lesson? This infamous scene proves sex isn't just for pure enjoyment - sometimes you can find an ulterior motive if you look hard enough.
3. Black Swan and Center Stage
Lesson learned: Ballerinas are kinky! Both these dance-fueled sex scenes teach us the same lesson, perhaps ballerinas aren't as prim and proper as we give them credit for. In Center Stage, Jodie Sawyer is practically sleeping with her instructor on stage in front of a theatre filled with people - I am not sure how many times this has happened in real life, but its safe to say there is a recurring theme here. Just sayin'.
Lesson learned: The steamiest sex doesn't always involve actual sex. This could be one of the all-time steamiest sex scenes where the two people involved are not actually having sex and yet, the passion between them is seriously palpable.
5. 40 Days and 40 Nights
Lesson learned: The physical act of sex is not necessary for a totally steamy sex scene (or a blow your mind orgasm for that matter). In 40 Days Josh Hartnett famously brings his lady to climax without ever touching her. This one may be a lesson worth re-teaching..
6. Cruel Intentions
Lesson learned: A true "player" can change - but only if he wants to. You cannot change him, so don't even try.
Lesson learned: Talk about steamy, am I right?
While this movie will always imply empty promises (because in the end, he did let go!), the lesson learned is that true love can exist where it may not usually be accepted or found. [And in case you want more proof, Leo reconfirms this lesson in Romeo + Juliet as well - but that sex scene just isn't nearly as steamy]
8. The Notebook
Lesson learned: Absence makes the heart grow fonder? Nope. Ryan and Rachel teach us that absence most definitely makes your sex drive stronger. And don't even try to tell me this isn't the hottest of the hot sex scenes, every girl in the world would trade places with Rachel McAdams right here.
