Alejandro Ingelmo's New Look is Made in Maine

Alejandro Ingelmo's New Look is Made in Maine
If you're a fan of Alejandro Ingelmo (as we are), you'll know that, by and large, his shoes are to-die-for glamorous. Check out this video from his spring 2013 New York Fashion Week presentation right here. In fact, most of them feature gilding and heels like this:

So we were surprised to find an announcement in our inbox this morning that Ingelmo's gone all preppy on us—and created a collection of penny loafers and boat shoes for spring 2013. They look like this:

And they come in lots of different neon colors and leather finishes (patent black boat shoe, anyone?).

The shoes are part of Ingelmo's new "Made in Maine" collection—which means they're all handcrafted in a Maine factory. And, no surprise, they're also inspired by classic New Englander footwear—with a twist (in this case, a tweak in proportions and the addition of a major platform).

Do you like them?

Look for Alejandro Ingelmo's new Made in Maine collection starting this week at stores such as Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, and Harvey Nichols. The footwear will retail from $475 to $800.
