Minimalism, we’ll always love you, but we’re currently swooning over the asymmetric ruffles spotted on Zooey Deschanel and Zoe Saldana. The lovely ladies kept the voluminous style in check by keeping everything else simple—namely, their classic black-and-white palettes and spartan accessorizing.

With ruffles of all sizes making their way into the mainstream, celebs are sporting them to show off their best assets:

Paula Patton flaunted her curves at the 2014 Golden Globes in a body-hugging Stephane Rolland Couture dress. The snow-hued column gown was paired with simple Charlotte Olympia shoes, a Saint Laurent bag and David Yurman jewelry.

Oscar de la Renta is one of Lea Michele’s go-to designers for the red carpet, and she chose this decadent, cascading silk gown for last year's Golden Globes. The actress juxtaposed the statement style with delicate, dainty jewelry.

Anna Kendrick’s crimson Marchesa frock featured diaphanous chiffon ruffles, topped with a vast organza bow. Black peep-toe pumps and a clutch by Christian Louboutin completed the number.
