One aspect of spring and summer that we love is that everything just seems softer—it's as though the world takes on a soft-focus glow. It could be the long, lazy days or the desire to wear all things light and lovely, but whatever the cause, we're embracing our softer sides. Just a peek at the Spring/Summer collections reveals that designers were doing the same as they embraced blush for the warmer months.

Designers including Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi for Preen, Miuccia Prada for Miu Miu, Olivier Rousteing for Balmain and Tory Burch sent blush looks down their runways. While the color does impart a certain inescapable ladylike essence, designers played with cut and fit to give their blush garments a dose of something extra. At Preen it was minimalist elegance, at Miu Miu and Balmain there were plays on texture with fringe and lace, while Tory Burch imparted glamorous shine.

Celebrities have also become partial to this romantic hue. We've seen it on everyone from movie star Cate Blanchett to small-screen actors such as Zosia Mamet and model Suki Waterhouse
