Happy Hour Hair Treatment: Spicy Tequila Scalp Toner

Happy Hour Hair Treatment: Spicy Tequila Scalp Toner(Source: Thinkstock; Art by Tanya Leigh Washington)It might only be Tuesday, but we're already thinking about cocktail hour. But this time instead of drinking our tequila, we're using it to stimulate hair growth with a spicy tequila scalp toner. DIY kitchen beauty queen Alexis Wolfer of the Beauty Bean came up with a zesty jalapeño and tequila scalp recipe to promote hair growth as well as pore cleansing.

Spicy Tequila Scalp Toner

Three jalapeños, sliced
Half cup tequila

1. Soak the jalapeño peppers in the tequila overnight to create spicy tequila toner.
2. Wear gloves to avoid skin irritation to your hands when applying. Use either a saturated cotton pad or an eyedropper to apply the toner to your scalp.
3. Massage the toner into the scalp for ten minutes, and follow with shampoo and conditioner.

Jalapeños increase circulation and thus bring blood flow to your scalp to aid in the hair growth process. Tequila breaks down product buildup on the scalp and clears out the pores on your head. When the two ingredients are paired, Wolfer says the toner sets up your scalp for maximum hair-growing conditions.
