A DIY conditioning treatment is just the way to do it.
We're all about treating yourself—especially around Valentine's Day. Whether you're indulging in a tasty drink and lovely manicure or something a little more slinky, you deserve to look and feel as amazing as you are. Let your hair in on the action with a DIY conditioning treatment to whip your strands into shape, just in time for date night, girls' night—any night! PRIV Pro Kelley Louise shared with us her secret recipe for getting touchable, silky strands.
Ingredients:
One banana
Two tablespoons coconut oil
Half a tablespoon honey (optional)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until they become a smooth, consistent paste. Part hair into one-inch sections and apply paste generously at the ends, working up to the midshaft of the hair. If the scalp is extra dry, apply to the roots, as well. Let treatment sit for approximately 30 minutes. For maximum results, wrap hair in saran wrap and apply a hot towel around the head—this opens up the hair cuticle and allows the ingredients to penetrate thoroughly. Rinse the treatment off. Shampoo and condition as normal.
Benefits:
Bananas are packed with potassium, which helps improve hair's elasticity and creates more manageability. Coconut oil hydrates and adds shine. Honey is an emollient— a natural softener—and is a great antioxidant for the health of your hair. All ingredients contain natural oils and vitamins that condition your hair.
