The NYFW Hair Trend You Can Try Right Now
This runway trend is so easy to pull off—trust us.
We're suckers for extravagant hairstyles, and there's no better place to find inspiration for them than at New York Fashion Week. This season we've already spotted a number of fanciful 'dos we can't wait to add to our Pinboards. But what's even more amazing than a perfectly coiffed 'do is a trend we can actually implement in real life. This one we noticed hitting the runways is so simple, you can give it a go tomorrow.
Hair adornments are popping up everywhere. From bold blooms to luxe leather and metallics, we've spotted a number of hair accessories strutting down the catwalk. See some of the best ways we've seen them incorporated to add a little pizzaz to your strands.
For Carolina Herrera, TRESemmé stylist Orlando Pita opted for a sleek ponytail embellished with a metallic hair wrapper to mimic the water siren vibe.
To complement the whimsical Catherine Deneuve vibe at Honor, James Pecis for Beauty.com used PHYTO products to create a volume-rich 'do topped off with a metallic headband.
A thick leather knot tied off this ponytail at Tanya Taylor. Allen Wood for Bumble and Bumble added these leather cords to add some edge to the relaxed looks.
Orlando Pita for PHYTO spiced up a basic ponytail with a handmade, custom leather holder to create the look of the classic American New York woman at Derek Lam.
For Suno's runway show, the look was all about the hair flip. Odile Gilbert for Kerna created a playful take on the bun with an added barrette accent.
There were big florals blooming at Alice + Olivia, where Rodney Cutler for Cutler/Redken adorned rope-braided buns with bold carnations.
Want to give this look a shot right now? We're fond of this metallic option from Forever 21 ($3), this touch of velvet from Topshop ($15) and this pop of pink florals from ban.do ($35).
