Spring Hair Trend: Fancy Ponytails

Spring Hair Trend: Fancy Ponytails(Source: ImaxTree)No longer reserved for the gym or bad hair days, ponytails were spotted all over the runways at New York Fashion Week spring 2014, as seen at (from left to right) Reem Acra, Kate Spade, Kenneth Cole New York, and Vivienne Tam.

Models sported sleek ponytails at
Ralph Lauren, created by Redken creative consultant Guido Palau. First, he blow dried hair straight, then used his hands to bring strands together into a ponytail. To add a sophisticated touch, he covered the elastic by wrapping a small section of hair around it and topped everything off with hairspray.

Since the hair was blow-dried with a diffuser, Malige used dry shampoo to give it a wave. To add volume, hair was back-combed at the crown and set with hairspray.

He flatironed models's locks, secured it in a mid-height ponytail, wrapped a leather piece around the elastic, and then added bands to create tiers. He completed the look with faux bangs.
