While we were hitting up backstage at New York Fashion Week Fall 2015, we were keeping our eyes peeled for any hair trends brewing that we could actually re-create in the comfort of our own homes. And lucky for us, one of the major ones we spotted is very DIY-friendly. Various forms of buns were all the rage on the runways this season. From twisted knots to simple loops, buns were aplenty.

At Dennis Basso, a tucked bun gave models classic elegance. At Son Jung Wan, models wore their hair in half pulled-out ponytails—creating a sleek bun with a tail left free for a more masculine feel. Finally at J. Mendel, James Pecis for Phyto created this rolled version of the classic stye.

But the trend didn't just stop there. We spotted a number of celebs hitting the Oscar's red carpet wearing different versions of the trend. Oscar-winner Julianne Moore kept it sleek and simple with a deep side part and a thick knot at the nape of the neck. Karolina Kurkova looped hers around into a tiny wrapped bun that left a few pieces out. Finally, Felicity Jones took a classic approach with a twisted version pinned directly to the back of the head.
