Some ladies love their hair up, some love their hair down, but lately stars have been favoring a new look: off to the side. The side sweep has popped up on red carpets aplenty as the perfect mixture of glamorous and edgy. It's no wonder celebs who eschew ultra-feminine style, such as Rooney Mara and Kristen Stewart, rock the half-and-half look.
Part slicked-back and part voluminous, the style works on virtually any haircut—long, short, curly and straight alike. From the front, it gives the shock factor of a shaved head without the risky cut. From the side, cascading locks achieve an effortless vibe. The best part: it shows off what you're wearing, which is especially flattering on strapless numbers, as seen on Cara Delevingne.
