Hollywood's Most Daring Vintage Fashion Moments

2. Elizabeth Taylor's Fifth Wedding Dress
After having a daughter with Mike Todd (her third husband) and being married one year, Taylor met the second love of her life, Richard Burton. The pair met while on the set of Cleopatra, and became known as "Liz and Dick." Their first marriage to each other was in Montreal in 1964.

To commemorate the event, Cleopatra's costume designer, Irene Sharaff, designed Taylor's marigold yellow babydoll dress. She paired it with a yellow bouquet and a flower-woven waist-length braid with lilies of the valley and white hyacinths.

Burton didn't get Taylor an engagement ring. Instead, the actor bought Taylor a platinum-set Bulgari pendant with an 18.61-carat emerald surrounded with diamonds. Taylor wore the gift during the ceremony.
