Hollywood's Most Daring Vintage Fashion Moments

4. Brigitte Bardot's Pink Wedding Dress
Brigitte Bardot made waves when she wore a pink gingham wedding dress by Vichy to marry her second husband, French actor Jacques Charrier in 1959. Bardot broke convention by forgoing a white dress and instead donned a lace-trimmed pink frock. The pink number, which was designed by Jacques Esterel for Vichy, symbolized youth, which was a relatively new concept in the 1950s. "Teenagers" became a category that very same decade. She was only 24 years old at the time, and made gingham a popular fashion trend for the next decade.
