Hollywood's Most Daring Vintage Fashion Moments
23. April Olrich's Handmade Dress
In 1959, British actor April Olrich made her own dress to the London premiere of No Trees in the Street. She made the high-low gown from a Chinese tapestry, and rather than wearing the usual mermaid or tea-length dress silhouettes, Olrich went with the fashion-forward bell-shaped look. She was definitely ahead of the curve, and unafraid to make her own fashion fantasies come true.
