The white halter dress from Seven Year Itch has become as synonymous with Marilyn Monroe as her platinum curls or red lipstick. Now when people dress up as her for parties or events, the white dress is the go-to look. 

But the dress was too scandalous for her then-husband Joe DiMaggio. The baseball player furiously left the set after seeing the subway grate scene, and the couple had a physical altercation later that night in their hotel room. They filed for divorce three weeks later.
