5. Make Lists!
People have this problem even when they know exactly what their style is: They go into a store without a plan and just snap up whatever catches their eye, not thinking about how it will play with the rest of their wardrobe. And because of it, it usually hangs there in the closet with its tags on until it's time to donate. 

So how do you avoid that? Make lists! Check out your closet and write down a list of things that are missing. Is it your foundation, like chambray shirts and cigarette pants? Or is it style specific things, like high waist pants for your vintage vibe or white sneakers for your sporty look? When you know exactly what you're looking for, you won't stray and making shopping blunders.
