Hot off the Twitter feed: Zoe Saldana just tweeted that New York–based designer Prabal Gurung has been named among this year's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists.

Saldana is said to have been the first celebrity to wear a Gurung confection on the red carpet: She positively rocked a scarlet one-shoulder mini at a Star Trek premiere in April 2009. But Zoe was just the first starlet to line up at Prabal's door: To Cartier's 100th Anniversary in America fete, in May 2009, both Demi Moore and Rachel Weisz wore striped looks from Gurung's Fall 2009 debut collection. In April this year, Olivia Palermo donned Gurung's modern yet fanciful feathers at Cipriani in New York.

That Prabal Gurung has fast became an industry darling among both editors and celebs alike is no real surprise: His signature one-shoulder frocks frame a woman's figure just the way we like it—and his clothes exhibit the kind of attention to detail that will keep the Wintours of world watching his work like a hawk.

Gurung has good company in the CFDA finals: His competition includes Joseph Altuzarra and Christian Cota. Congrats, Prabal, and good luck!
