Jessica Barden stars as sardonic teen heroine Alyssa in Netflix original series, The End of the F**king World. She's a surprising female lead, an oddball who joins forces with fellow hometown eccentric James (who thinks he's a sociopath), to steal a car and go on the run from the cops. Jessica is striking and utterly refreshing in the unconventional role — where, instead of being the typical teenage girl seeking the attention of her crush, she calls the shots, hilariously steals underwear, and is confident and assertive in a way you don't often see on television. I would 10/10 like to be friends with Alyssa. Wouldn't you?
