Seven Seconds' premise is a heavy one. The show's storyline follows Latrice, played by the Emmy award-winning Regina King, who is the mother of a young black man killed in a hit-and-run accident — with a white male cop behind the wheel. King is incredible in the role, as the grieving mother who struggles to navigate her way through an explosively racial and volatile environment, all while in the throes of grief for the son who has been tragically ripped away from her.
